The Second Annual, Ultimate Bookish Prime Day Guide for Book Lovers

Have you already scoured the Prime Day deals for the best bookish finds? If not, you’re in luck! I’ve done all the hard work for you, and put together a list of my favorite limited time deals for book lovers for Prime Day 2023. From special edition hardcovers with ✨sprayed edges✨, insanely good deals on boxed sets of Booktok favorites, to aesthetic annotation supplies, to Kindles (I’m crying—it’s an even better deal than last year when I got my Kindle Oasis!), they’re all here. And I admit, I’ve already taken advantage of some of these–they were too good to pass up!

If you spy something amazing that should be added to the list, drop it in the comments!

BOOKS YOU’LL WANT ON YOUR SHELF:

The Stormlight Archives by Brandon Sanderson (Hardcover boxed set, books 1-4)

$148.96, NOW $55.92 (SAVE 62%)

Holy moly, this is SUCH a good deal for these Brandon Sanderson hardcovers! And these books are chonky—like over-1000-pages-each-chonky. If I didn’t already have this, it would be an immediate add to cart. ProTip: there is gorgeous custom art endpages on all of these, and a couple of them have reverse map dust jackets. UPDATE: this one sold out after a couple hours, but it looks like it’s back for $77—still almost 50% off.

The Lord of the Rings, special Tolkien illustrated hardcover edition

$75, NOW $27.43 (SAVE 63%)

I am crying over this one. As you saw from the hero image of this post, I already own this gorgeous illustrated special edition with red and white stenciled edges of The Lord of the Rings. And let me tell you, it was not at this price. It’s a STUNNING copy, and even has a fold out map of middle earth.

The Silmarillion, special Tolkien illustrated hardcover edition

$65, NOW $26.04 (SAVE 60%)

This special edition of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Silmarillion matches the one of LOTR above, and also features stenciled and sprayed edges (but in green this time), as well as fold out maps.

The Lives of Saints by Leigh Bardugo (illustrated special edition)

$24.99, NOW $11.19 (SAVE 55%)

I already have this stunning illustrated special edition, and it is GORGEOUS in person. The cover is kind of pebbled so it feels like an old leather bound, and the gold foiling such a luxe touch. If you’re a fan of the Grishaverse, this one is a must.

The Fine Print by Lauren Asher (special edition)

$17.99, NOW $8.67 (SAVE 52%)

I love this cover so much, and every time I see it I always think, dang, I seriously need to read that. Well I still haven’t read it yet, but there’s a lot of people on Booktok and Bookstagram that LOVE this one (it’s for the romance girlies, btw).

The All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness, Boxed Set

$54, NOW $24.75 (SAVE 54%)

So many people seem to love this trilogy and show. I candidly haven’t read or watched it, but hey, it’s a good deal, so if you’re a fan, you can snag it for 54% off.

Shades of Magic Trilogy by V.E. Schwab, Boxed Set

$53.97, NOW $26.91 (SAVE 50%)

V.E. Schwab is on my autobuy author list, and don’t we all love a good boxed set?! If you’re a fan of portal fantasies, and multiple dimensions, this is an incredible series to check out if you’re getting into adult fantasy.

Clytemnestra by Costanza Casati

$26.99, NOW $15.14 (SAVE 44%)

If you’re on the hunt for more Greek myth retellings, and you love Circe, this one might be for you. It’s high on my TBR!

Caraval by Stephanie Garber, Hardcover Boxed Set

$59.97, NOW $32.99 (SAVE 45%)

I know nothing about this series other than that Booktok is obsessed with it. It’s about an “unbreakable bond between two sisters”, and sounds like it might have a cirque du soleil style. Since The Night Circus is one of my favorite books of all time, this series is definitely on my TBR.

Dune by Frank Herbert (Deluxe special edition)

$17.99, NOW $9.79 (SAVE 46%)

This is SUCH a gorgeous special edition, with turquoise sprayed edges, illustrated endpapers, a reversible poster on the dust jacket, and a stamped foiled hardcover. I really loved the new adaptation, and can’t wait to watch the next installment when it comes out this November!

LOTR Special illustrated Edition

$250.00, NOW $90.99 (SAVE 64%)

Ok, this one is definitely still a splurge, but what a deal! LOTR in red is somehow so iconic. This is illustrated in color, and includes over 30 pieces from Tolkien himself as well as two fold out maps.

Complete Works of Jane Austen in Penguin clothbound classics boxed set

$170.00, NOW $73.10 (SAVE 57%)

These Penguin Clothbound Classics are beloved by many a bookworm, and this is one of the best deals I’ve ever seen on this boxed set of all seven books by Jane Austen.

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas (Paperback boxed set)

$93.00, NOW $55.80 (SAVE 40%)

There’s also a $5 off coupon on the listing which brings these out to about $10 a book. Pretty amazing deal for a beloved favorite. Not that you need another set, right?

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab, special edition

$29.99, NOW $15.69 (SAVE 48%)

This special edition of The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue includes six new pieces of artwork, a ribbon bookmark, and an embossed hardcover.

Outlander by Diana Gabaldon, Boxed Set 1-4

$39.96, NOW $18.56 (SAVE 58%)

I’ve slowly been thrifting these over the past couple years, but honestly, this price is about the same as thrifting, and you can get them brand new. And the Boxed Set of 4-8 are also on sale.

Bookshelves + Miscellaneous Bookish vibes

$99.99, NOW $68.68 (SAVE 31%)

I already have this shelf and I’m obsessed with it. It’s super sturdy, easy to put together, and solid wood and metal. Bookshelves are always so hard to find, or they’re so expensive, so I’m seriously considering getting another one of these.

139.99, NOW $89.69 (SAVE 36%)

This smaller bookshelf comes in a bunch of different colors, but it’s so cute and looks sturdy.

$194.99, NOW $109.93 (SAVE 44%)

Give me all the shades of beige, ok?! Look, I went through my IKEA bookshelf phase too, which is totally fine, and honestly kind of a right of passage as a bookworm. But if you’re looking for something a little more substantial, this might be the one. I love the beveling on the top too!

$189.99, NOW $127.99 (SAVE 33%)

If the industrial look, this five-tier bookshelf is the one for you. I have a white version from a different brand (currently sold out or I would have included it!), and it fits so well in my loft with a bit of a vintage vibe as well.

28.99, NOW $22.90 (SAVE 21%)

I just want to cozy up with this blanket and my book right now! There are a million different colors to choose from too.

$137.00, NOW $116.43 (SAVE 15%)

Every home needs a home library ladder, and this five-step foldable one is my current obsession. It’s sleek and modern, but the gold gives it a little bit of luxe too, right?

READING DEVICES + MEMBERSHIPS/SUBSCRIPTIONS

Audible Membership

Get an Audible membership FREE for three months, then $14.95/month for one book credit + Plus library access. Only during Prime Day sale.

$44.85, NOW $0 (SAVE 100% for three months)

I’ve had an Audible membership last two years, and I honestly love it. While I normally grab audiobooks from my local library via Libby or these other apps, there have been several times with new releases where they aren’t available yet, or have a super long wait list, so it’s nice to be able to jump into audible and start listening. Plus, some Romantasy authors like Danielle L. Jensen actually publish their novels on Audible first and they’re included in the Audible library (with the hardcopies being released six months after the audiobook)!

Kindle

$99.99, NOW $64.99 (SAVE 35%)

Kindle Paperwhite

$139.99, NOW $89.99 (SAVE 36%)

Kindle Scribe

$389.99, NOW $294.99 (SAVE 24%)

Kindle Oasis

$279.99, NOW $184.99 (SAVE 34%)

I was a holdout on getting a Kindle for YEARS, but last Prime Day, I decided to snag an Oasis, and I’ve been so happy with it! I figured it was basically the same as reading on the Kindle app on my iPhone, If you’ve been thinking about getting a Kindle, TODAY is the day. They’re all on sale, plus they come with three months free Kindle Unlimited (that’s $30 back in our pockets), and a $5 Kindle coupon. I mean…it’s hard to pass up. And now that travel is back on the table, I do like the idea of being able to bring my kindle instead of an entire suitcase of books (yes, I am guilty of doing this many times over).

Happy Prime Day shopping, book lovers! I’ll add any new finds I come across and update the article over the next 24 hours, so make sure to bookmark it!

P.S. If you end up getting a copy of any items through an Amazon affiliate link above, you’ll be helping me support this site and newsletter. Thanks in advance for supporting a fellow bookworm! BTW, I will always disclose affiliate links when they’re present. :) Happy reading!
