Introducing ‘Valor and Lore’, our new Shop brand and a Sneak Peek at our upcoming Officially Licensed ‘Fourth Wing’ merch
I'm beyond excited to introduce you to Valor & Lore, the new home for our community's little literary luxuries shop aka your favorite place to find subtle and classy bookish merch (both original designs and officially licensed, including Sarah J. Maas + Rebecca Yarros)!
But let’s back up. Why the change? Well, here’s a little history…
On October 1st, 2020 I decided to take the plunge and create a Booktok account after lurking for a few months. I’ve been a lifelong fantasy reader (among other genres), grew up without TV, and am a self proclaimed booktrovert, so it seemed like the perfect little corner of the internet for me. And it was. Over the past *almost three years, Books are my Third Place has grown from a little creative outlet on TikTok, to a literary lifestyle site, weekly bookish newsletter, and bookish merch Shop. I’ve made some incredible friends, met amazingly talented authors, and have discovered so many new favorite reads because of many of you.
But ‘the BAMTP Shop’ never really felt like it captured the cozy, but classy vibe of my book merch Shop, and ‘Books are my Third Place’ has always been more my personal community and our space to chat recs, reviews, and connect. I wanted a dedicated space for the Shop to expand and grow as I work with more authors to bring to life merch you love.
Think private members’ club vibes, but for nerdy book lovers. Sophistication without the stuffiness. Modern vintage vibes. Cozy, but classy. IYKYK. You get it, right? I knew you would.
So the idea for Valor & Lore was born after many brainstorms, domain hunting, and FaceTimes with my family. Being an epic fantasy reader, so many of my favorite characters show courage in spite of fear or self doubt, and I live for great world building, myths, and lore behind some of our favorite stories. Valor & Lore seemed to be the perfect choice for a new bookish brand that could expand into other things in the future, but always stay true to its bookish, nerdy roots.
Valor & Lore launches on July 25th with the Back-to-School officially licensed Fourth Wing collection. And of course, all your favorite LOTR + SJM, and general bookish bestsellers will be moving to their new home as well (NOTE: after 7.25, only the digital shop will be open on BAMTP). Here’s a sneak peek at the new collection that will have you screaming your Basgiath War College pride from the rooftops:
