2022 Bookish Gift Guides: The Urge to Splurge

Whether you’re looking for yourself or someone close to you, sometimes you just have the urge to splurge during the holidays. I’ve collected some of my favorite items below that I’ve had my eyes on that would make super special gifts for the book lover in your life. There’s a mix of actual books–beautiful special editions–as well as bookish items.

Any book by Easton Press

But specifically The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern (which is the image above!). It’s such a gorgeous edition, and something I’ve been eyeing for the past couple of years.

Illustrated Special Editions of Harry Potter

These special edition, large illustrated copies of Harry Potter by Jim Kay. I didn’t even know these existed until I stumbled upon them while perusing Amazon. 100% a splurge. But how stunning are they?!

Book by Commodity perfume

I just recently discovered this perfume during the Sephora sale, and had to sample it–it’s a really nice unisex scent.

From the maker:  "The original Book Expressive was inspired by turning the pages and breathing in the smell of dry paper mingling in with the open fresh air. In Book- Personal, I took that inspiration and wanted to create a quieter, more peaceful and warm experience." –Jerome Epinette, Maker

Book nook

I remember the first time I saw one of these it was immediately cute overload. I’ve wanted one ever since, but the price tag is solidly a splurge for these handmade miniatures on Etsy.

French Meadows Corset

For any of us who cosplay fantasy or historical fiction characters, you’ve probably dreamed of having a French Meadow Corset. They are so incredibly stunning, but definitely carry a hefty price tag.

Juniper Books Dust Jackets

Alternative dust jackets are always fun for a book collector, but the ones from Juniper Books are almost always a splurge for these longer series.

Game of Thrones alternative dust jackets

Wheel of Time

Bespoke wand from Windermere Wands

After meeting Windermere Wands Founder, Deacon Ales, I’m convinced he’s a real-life Ollivander, and creates the most magical one-of-a-kind pieces that any magic lover would cherish.
