Ready to Make New Fantasy Book Friends? Come Buddy Read Iron Flame, the Highly Anticipated Sequel to Bestselling, Fourth Wing
We’re less than 24 hours away from Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros dropping, and we’ve got a LOT going on at BAMTP + our Shop, Valor & Lore this week to celebrate the release! In case you’re new to the Romantasy book world, Iron Flame is one of the most anticipated Romantasy sequels of 2023. I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of Fourth Wing, book one of The Empyrean series, early this year and immediately knew it had the making’s of a runaway hit (you can check my spoiler free review here). Since then, it’s gone on to sell over two million copies firmly cementing Yarros as fantasy booktok royalty. This morning I got to watch Rebecca on Good Morning America and the cast of Hamilton even surprised her (this series is a big deal, ok?!). Of course, I wanted to do some fun things this week in honor of Iron Flame’s release, so we’ll be doing one of our casual buddy reads in the BAMTP community discord, having a sale on ALL Fourth Wing merch in our officially licensed collection at Valor & Lore, and a Basgiath tote giveaway in Rebecca’s official FB group. Unfortunately, there aren’t any midnight release parties in San Francisco (WHAT?!), so I’ll be living vicariously through all of you. If you love talking dragons, romance, and a fun time, this might be the Romantasy series for you. In my opinion, Fourth Wing is perfect for people just getting into fantasy who may have focused more on romance reads in the past, but want to dip their toes into high fantasy. It’s pretty lite on world-building, so it’s super easy to understand, and I did fall in love with the characters. I hope you will too!
