According to my Storygraph stats, audiobooks make up almost a quarter of my reads this year so far. But as audiobook booktoker Britt Lowry pointed out, the narrator can really make or break the experience as a reader. If you like BTS videos of a unique job, you’re curious about getting into narrating audiobooks, or you just want to listen to people with fantastic voices, these are the audiobook narrators I’d recommend checking out:

NATALIE NAUDUS (@NATALIENAUDUS)

I’m pretty certain Natalie was the first audiobook narrator I ever followed on TikTok. She’s incredibly authentic, hilarious, and shows a lot of BTS of what it looks like to be a narrator, including her recording shed on the mountain spot she and her family call home.

TAY KNOX (@TAYTHELOSTBARD)

One of my new favorite Creators, and new to the world of audiobook narration, Tay Knox popped up on our FYPs a couple months ago bringing our favorite book boyfriend moments to life. I had the pleasure of sitting down with Tay, so keep an eye out for that interview, coming soon! Let’s just say, you’re going to want to watch to the end…

LAURA HOROWITZ (@LAURA_HOROWITZ

Laura is the most recent book narrator I’ve followed. I saw her take on the Verba situation, and stayed for the voice.

ERIN MALLON (@ERINMALLONWRITER)

I came across the TikTok below, and had seen this quote in the TikTok below somewhere else, which had already melted my heart, but the way Erin narrates it?! Please narrate my life.

JULIA WHELAN (@JUSTJULIAWHELAN)

Julia-freaking-Whelan! If you listened to the audiobook of Book Lovers like I did, then you’ve had the pleasure of enjoying the sublime audio experience Julia creates. I mean…that voice for Charlie! Ma’am! 🔥

ROB BRINKMANN (@READBYROB)

I always find it fascinating how people prepare for their work. Rob’s videos often include warm ups like the one below where he reads a TRESemmé shampoo bottle…as a vampire…and I could listen to these all day. There’s an NSFW one that had me crying tears of laughter.

PAIGE REISENFELD (@PAIGEVOICE)

A classically trained singer-turned-audiobook-narrator, her channel focuses on excerpts from the books she’s narrated, so you can get a quick feel for the different voices and characters she brings to life. It’s quite the range.

KELSEY D NAVARRO (@KELSEYDNAVARRO)

I love Kelsey’s videos like the one below where she goes into how people pronounce the same word differently. She’s also got some hilarious “mistake” videos that I can’t get enough of.
